Some 9,435 fans took to the stands at Mestalla on Easter Monday to cheer on VCF Femenino, as they faced Levante UD Femenino in an entertaining derby.
The game was the second ever occasion that the Valencia CF women's side had played at the first team's home stadium, with the first having come almost exactly two years to the day before, on April 23rd, 2017, against their local rivals.
In attendance for the derby, held on a national holiday as part of Spain's Holy Week, were Valencia CF president Anil Murthy, Levante UD president Quico Catalán, VCF Femenino president Salvador Belda and honourary president Pedro Malabia.
Before kickoff, a homage was made to every player who has represented VCF Femenino in their 10-year history.
In the match itself, VCF Femenino went ahead early through Estefania Banini, although LUD Femenino would end up taking the derby 1-3.
The impressive turnout and the ever-growing passion for women's football provided plenty of evidence that VCF Femenino will play a big part in the next century of Valencia CF's history.
